The Cedars of Lamartine

The french poet Lamartine was impressed 
by the Cedar forest during his stay in 
Lebanon and so mentioned it in his works.
He also carved his name on one Cedar tree that has been named after him .
                                                   

The Cedar wood

Due to hard natural conditions, especially 
in winter , some Cedar branches would 
crack. The Artists would use them to forge 
sculptures that attract tourists .
                                                       

Skiing on the Cedars

The area of the Cedars in north Lebanon is a ideal place for practicing winter sports .
Therefore , there exists in this area many hotels and clubs that get ready every winter to the flood of the tourists and people from around Lebanon.
